Through my years are Gilmer High School I've been very impressed. Over the last few years we've upgraded our facilities cleaned up the buildings, have a nice stadium, and changed the food for better nutrition. This matters to students, I know because I'm a three sport athlete and enjoy the new luxury's. Gilmer Highs teachers and academics are also strong. Overall I'm very happy to graduate from GHS and proud of the school culture.

The school might actually be one of the worst schools ever they do not take accountability for their students and they skip right by bullying the beginning of this year my father died and I was bringing in excuses from the hospital and from hospice and they said they couldn't take them and they charged me with truancy, even though I continued to bring in excuse's and one of the teachers told me that being at school, and that school was more important than being with my father while he was dying

Great and I appreciate the admin and teachers. The children are safe and supported in their classes. The teachers are educated and knowledgeable of the content they teach. I feel children are ready for college or trade school when they graduate high school.

I have 3 graduates, one sophomore, and two more on their way to this high school. I will happily debate anyone with a negative review of this high school. This is a good school, with good staff, and in a good town. This school like any other gives any student what they work for. Their band program f...

What a shame on the negative reviews. I would submit that the parents obviously did not even go to the school as my Senior DID get prep for SAT and a ton of advice and a great plan for college. She starts college Fall 2017 on a full ride scholarship- as a parent I took the time to stay informed and...

Do not expect your high schooler to be properly prepared for college at GHS. The teachers and administration are purely interested in students getting passing test scores. There is no college prep, SAT prep, building of good study habits. It amazes me how many students graduate from GHS without lear...

I feel like GHS has really been headed in the right direction for the past two years. The teachers and students really seem to have a common goal and are working to be the best they can be. Classes are more structured and the student body really seems to understand what is expected of them.
