Anchored along the northwestern corner of The Islands subdivision, Islands Elementary School serves more than 500 students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade as part of the Gilbert Public Schools District.
With a mission to foster children who are lifelong learners, the faculty and staff at Islands Elementary embrace a welcoming environment for students and encourage participation from parents and the community.
In addition to a core curriculum, the school integrates art, physical education, library, music and gifted and special education programs so children can develop their creativity and self-confidence to grow in all areas. Through rigorous academics, students here earn test scores in reading and math well above the state averages.
Outside of the classroom, students can also thrive in a range of youth enrichment programs including sports, chess, dance, Young Rembrandts and robotics, among others. Parents and caregivers can rest easy with the added convenience of the school’s before- and after-school program where their children can enjoy breakfast, afternoon snacks, homework time, outdoor activities and games.
Throughout the year, Islands Elementary hosts a calendar of engaging events ranging from book fairs and holiday bashes to talent shows and even pool parties at local aquatic centers to make the most of Arizona’s sunny skies and warm temperatures.

Islands has been such an amazing experience for my family . I didn’t shop around, it’s just the closest elementary and I couldn’t be happier. From the front office staff to all the teachers I’ve met, everyone has such a positive outlook and friendly smile. My girls feel safe and happy there
