Not a good school if your child struggles in any academic subjects. They pretend they don't see your child struggling and put off helping them until they are grade levels behind and it's so much harder for them to catch up. Teachers are poorly trained to differentiate different learning styles. Special education at this school is terrible. Families have had to move to neighborhoods with better public schools or send their kids to a private school. If your child doesn't need any special help or just minimal assistance then the school will be fine. It's very friendly and they have lots of smart kids who test very well so they have a high ranking.

My child loves Avoca West and so do I. The teachers are great, attentive, knowledgeable. The children loves them. The before and after care program is great also. They spend a lot of time outdoor and I really like that. The staff is very welcoming.

My child didn’t have a good experience here. This school doesn’t do anything about the bullying, in their grade and it’s been 4 or 5 weeks and nobody has said anything. I would highly recommend Avoca West Elementary School. The teachers and administration are invested in teaching the whole child and go above and beyond the basics of just giving an education. It's so bad that we enrolled our kid in private school! Our child is very bright but has ADHD which can affect his learning. The teachers and the administration kept insisting that he was doing fine and he didn't need extra help or accommodations even though he was falling further behind and losing...
