This school year was my first at Watkinson. It was an absolute game changer for me and my entire family. Everything Watkinson has to offer is everything I ever looked for in a school environment

Watkinson is amazing. The campus, lots of area outside between buildings, meaning we go outside within the school day, sometimes to study, or just to walk from class to class. I once got into a conversation with a math teacher on a book series we had both read, and there was a connected novella she had that I hadn't read, and she brought it in from her house and loaned it to me. And then classes, all are good sized, usually less than a dozen students (I think, I don't generally count) and I have even had classes with three students including myself. Zoology is amazing, and we can do projects likely not possible in any high school in CT, or some anywhere. Such as using mist nets to catch birds and hold them, which requires special permits. And then learning about how to find tardigrades, making tardigrade tools for picking individual ones up. And testing tardigrades for Wolbachia, which is pretty unknown, and only a couple of researchers are doing it.
