Hawthorne is honestly a small community. Everyone knows everyone and its basically a huge family. Here at Hawthorne there might only be a handful of faculty, but they all make sure that the students are well taken care of. The teachers do so much to make sure that each and every one of their students are being pushed to their potential. There is also Alumni who come back out to help around the school and community to make sure that everyone is on the right path to success.

Hawthorne is a school full great staff and even better students. I have only been here for 4 months yet, I have noticed how friendly and bright everyone is. The only issue in Hawthorne is the lack of educational and extracurricular activities due to lack of funds. This problem goes for the food too. In my experience, schools that surrounding areas considered unsavory to be at is mainly due to a lack of opportunity to thrive. Overall, Hawthorne is just an enjoyable experience as a school.

I get bullied and hit on a daily basis. Some times it happens right in front of teachers. I hate going to school. I don't feel safe. I make good grades, yet I'm treated like I'm stupid. Every thing at this school revolves around athletics. If the athletes treat others badly they are not held accountable. The teachers want to teach, but most of the time the majority of students will NOT be quiet or stop using their phones long enough to even have the common sense to let someone else learn.

Both of my children attended this school, both middle and high. The school has a small town vibe to it and the staff seems to know most of the students. Like any school it has its issues but you can see that the principal and staff are working hard to improve the school. They have a student/teacher...

This is a multiple generation community and the schools have the feel of a family. That gives me extra comfort along with the academic opportunities through magnet programs, AP classes and dual enrollment being available as well!

Our family's experience has been a nightmare. This is our community. We love the people that live here and would never have believed what has gone on. Bullying purposefully not documented, medications never being administered or documented, and being told in a recent follow up meeting all of my stud...

There are pros and cons to this school. Pros would be the staff are over all nice and the lunch is free. But the cons have more of over powering effect. The cons of this school are; Many to most of the student show no respect to the school leaving it a filthy and disgusting place. there has been ins...
