Lanigan Elementary School is dedicated to serving Farmington's kindergarten through fifth grade students with a public school education. LES emphasizes diversity among its staff to help make teachers relatable to its culturally diverse student body. Students attending Lanigan Elementary School enjoy a curriculum of music, science, social studies, English language arts and math, and are led to discover "who they are" through positive and reinforcing teacher/student relationships that promote "quality learning experiences."
Partnering with community organizations like Michigan State University, the Detroit Institute of Arts and Eastern Michigan University, the Lanigan Elementary School provides students with extended enrichment opportunities, including STEM and literacy support.
Students leave the Lanigan Elementary School equipped to succeed in middle and high school careers, inspired to reach their full potential and become "lifelong learners" based on real-world modeling through the Professional Learning Collaboration initiative.
Social and emotional learning programs at LES develop independence, agency and confidence in students that lead to higher scholastic performance. We've been at Lanigan for 2 years now, the experience we have had has been pretty positive, I do believe the teachers and staff do the best they can. They offer programs, clubs, etc. to keep the students actively involved and frankly show that they do matter and everyone is paying attention to them....
