Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

What I love about this school is the community they all support the school in everything it needs. Great environment they made me feel included at a young age and helped me academically to get where I am at. One thing I can say about the teachers and what you learn is not just academically but also they teach you those valuable lessons for future success and for that I am thankful for.

I started school in Kinston in 2010. I started in Kindergarten and will graduate from there in 2023. I have made friends that will last a lifetime. I have also had the advantage of smaller class sizes and feel that has helped me with my education. I feel like even though there is not a lot of diversity, since we are such a small school, I still feel like I received an excellent education that has prepared me for college.

Kinston is overall a great school. I like the fact that it is a small town school and that everyone knows everyone. One thing that I would like to see changed is the rigor of the academics. I think the honors courses should be more challenging to prepare students for college.
I would not recommend this school for anyone that cares for their child because the bully's here run the school and the teachers and principal will not do anything about it
