A lot of teachers are very passionate about teaching and it shows most are very understanding but because it is a rich school talks about preparing financially for college is often missed counselors don't do a good job in schedules and college conversation often putting kids down when these topics come up athletics and activities are good though and everyone is encouraged to join groups principal is great and really tries to be a part of the student community

Seem too concerned with political correctness than academics. Open fights in the hallways at times, though not as bad as many of the other high schools in Lincoln. Seem very pro diversity and social emotional learning, but with more attention for these than academics.

My kids have had a great experience at Southwest. The block schedule moves through the material more quickly, but students then have only 4 classes at a time to keep track of. Southwest is a very well built school. All of the staff really cares about every single student that attends Southwest each and everyday. Southwest has a big virility of sports, clubs, and activities to get involved in. Along with only having four classes a day is amazing.GO SOUTHWEST SILVER HAWKS!!
