Marquette High School was established as the home of the Mustangs in 1993. Built on a farm, the school initially served 1,000 freshmen and sophomores. Within five years, 14 additional classrooms were added. Today, the thriving institution serves 2,400 students in grades 9 through 12. Marquette’s academic programs include 27 Advanced Placement courses as well as honors and acceleration classes. Students may take other Marquette courses for college credit, and approved students may choose dual enrollment, taking courses at Marquette and local colleges. To enhance learning opportunities, the school day includes an Academic Lab for all students. During this time, students receive tutoring, make up missed work, or attend club or activity meetings. This unique lab is designed to give students a choice in how they achieve success and enrichment. Other unique programs at Marquette include Link Crew – a transition program that trains juniors and seniors as mentors who support freshmen throughout their first year of high school. Special traditions at Marquette include Wacky Olympics, Taste of Marquette, and dodgeball tournaments. Beyond these events, students also have the opportunity to participate in myriad extra-curricular activities. Marquette features a comprehensive athletics program, offering traditional sports as well as swim, dive, and water polo. Fine arts opportunities include band, choir, and dance. For students with specialized interests, club options include film, foreign language, Model UN, poetry, politics, robotics, and more. The overarching goal for each of these programs is to inspire, challenge, and encourage students to develop a foundation for lifelong learning in a global society.

Marquette is a large high school with a very diverse offering of courses, resources, and extracurricular activities. Many excellent teachers (a few not) and a responsive administration. There is something for everyone as far as clubs and after school activities are concerned. Wish there was more help on college resources such as financial/scholarship information.

All three of my children attended Marquette, each with their own unique learning styles and social strengths. Thanks to the exceptional education they received from K-12 in the Rockwood School District, they have all pursued college and successful careers, one is even finishing their final semester...
