The best part about attending Mathis High School is our school spirit and dedication toward each other. The worst part is definitely the food, which lacks protein and a proper diet for our athletes. I would love to see our lunch options change so that we are not purely eating carbs and fruit. I want a balanced diet.

The class of 2020 in Mathis High School has witnessed our school turn from average to below that. As freshmen, we became accustomed to your average high school, rightfully equipped with a library, dual credit courses, and a diverse set of staff. However, things changed as we rose up. Mathis High school has gone from a B+ on Niche to a C-. Mathis High School is a school that is more concerned with their student's haircuts and attendance rather than their probability to succeed in life. The students who rank in the top ten are treated with a lighter hand. The building has been around since my parents were my age. Recently, the construction of a new high school was funded, only for the school that we learn in to be halfway demolished. We take some classes in the middle school building next door. Mathis High School hasn't always been a below average school. But as of April 2nd, 2020, I don't think it even deserves a passing grade.

One of the best ranked schools in Texas at the moment. Great with academics and not to bad of an athletic program. Been here all of my life and do not really have anything bad to say about the school. Would definitely recommend this school for many.

School does not care enough when there is a problem. To much bullying & staff not doing enough about it. Rude front ladies. They allow adults to teach who do not have a degree allow subs to just teach students no help when a student needs help with class work

I graduated from mathis high school and it was pretty bad. The administration was terrible and did not care about us (the students) very much, they did little to nothing to prevent bullying, they cared more about the dress code then almost anything else.
