I like our high school overall. There is a lot of opportunity to go to college after high school through local colleges in the area, and they make it more likely for kids to be successful.

I personally have had an okay experience with Mattoon High School, it is pretty average. There are occasional physical fights, outbursts, etc.

teacher to class size ration was about 1:35. The school is athletic focused and did not offer very many opportunities for academic growth or success. The student body is not very safe to be around and can at times be very confrontational and aggressive.
