McBee is a good school but is underfunded. The whole problem with all the facilites and classes is that the school does not get the funding to keep things going. Teachers for classes such as chemistry and physics have to write grants. Those grants also have to be split amongst the other science teachers including the middle school. The high school and the middle school are all in one building. It seems that every year the number of students in the middle school doubles and we do not have enough space. McBee is also a small school and I enjoy the fact that since the maximum in a class is 25ish you can get to know your teachers. The teachers care and if you ask for help they will find the time and help you with what you need.

McBee High School has been a good experience overall. FFA involvement, like attending national conventions, has been a highlight. The teachers are pretty supportive, though balancing extracurriculars and academics can be difficult. I'd like to see more focus on college and career prep, along with more hands-on learning. From my years at McBee High, I can say that it has been valuable.
