The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It isn't the best when it comes to being ready for college or exploring options that are not college, from the beginning college was always pushed for me that's not bad as that was my plan but for others it is not beneficial or helpful.

I love the small-town environment that goes along with Fieldcrest High School. Sports are such a major part of our whole town. Since we are such a small town school life is very different than others and what they experience. The academics are overall average. There are about one or two in every class that excels in the learning aspect. The food is very average and there is no off-campus lunch although I wish there was. The teachers are all so nice and so involved. The small community brings everyone together like a family. But with that comes big names in small towns and with a big name in a small town that goes a long way. I have been lucky enough to be right in the middle and have all of the opportunities but they weren't just handed. The best part of Fieldcrest is the sports environment and how it brings everyone together to create one big support system.

It was during my freshman year of high school that the whole world went into lockdown because of Covid-19. My school made accommodations with remote learning and made sure all of the students were getting the help they needed. My school has also been undergoing a lot of construction to make sure that the building's layout will benefit students ie. installing an elevator. We have had some issues with staff members, but overall I think that the teachers at my school are great and are really easy to talk to.
Some staff intimidate kids and there are no repercussions. Teachers unions run the show and the Board of Education is too afraid to stand up to them- so instead they kiss up to them for fear of retaliation against their children. Staff also allow kids to change their names while keeping it a secret...
