My son attended Wasatch Academy as a boarder beginning second semester of sophomore year. Shy & somewhat a loner, he found his people at this school. Robotics was very rewarding for him. Outdoor adventures (rafting at Moab, hiking, skiing) were compelling. Small classes led by dedicated & very talented teachers helped him grow as a student. Wasatch Academy is a culture of kindness. It also challenges students to become their best selves & provides the structure & support for that.

while the campus is nice, ther is nothing to do in the town around. In terms of social scene it's OK although most people you will encounter are breaking the rules one way or another. There is not a lot of supervision. The teachers are amazing though. There's not that many clubs to do, and often I find myself not having a lot of time outside of school to hang out with friends because I feel burnt out from a long day. There are not as many opportunities at the school advertises. Safety wise the school could definitely improve. the area around Is not that safe and you can expect to encounter some red necks. The food is OK. The school is easy to get into. It admits anyone who Has not been in jail. At the end of the day walking away from the school, though I think it was good for one year. It taught me a lot of things however like how to be independent and self-reliant, it definitely was not the best environment. in my opinion, there is not a lot of school spirit and really no dances

Wasatch brings the whole world together with its diversity. I also began to gain interest in programming taught by Dr. Engberg. All the activities are well supported and any student initiatives are encouraged by teachers.
My son went to Wasatch Academy for two years and graduated from high school there. He was recently accepted to UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) as an engineering student, and I'm very happy that he may go to his dream school and study what he really wants to. Wasatch Academy gave him gre...
This school is the best thing that has happened to my son and for our family. It is a remarkable school. Very diverse, children from 30 countries. My daughter has attended WA for three years. The staff, teachers and everyone at WA welcomed her. Each dorm (which is more like a house) has a dorm parent; each student is assigned an advisor; and the teachers have study halls each evening. The head of school, Joe Loftin, knows every student and par...
I attended Wasatch beginning July of 2010. First couple weeks were fine, nothing too exciting. On the third week, however, I was confronted by a student who accused me of submitting a complaint of their substance use on school grounds (which I had no knowledge of). I was beaten by two students for n...
