Newnan High School is a public high school located in Newnan, Georgia. The school serves over 2000 students in grades nine through twelve and has a student-teacher ratio of 17-to-1. Newnan High School is a part of the Coweta County Public Schools system. Newnan High School’s curriculum is built around the Georgia Standards of Excellence and focuses on making sure that every student’s academic needs are met. This demanding curriculum ensures that all students will be prepared for higher education and beyond. It also encourages students to take the knowledge that they have gained inside the classroom and apply it outside of the classroom. Newnan High School offers a variety of clubs and organizations that give students the opportunity to excel outside of academics. Some of the clubs and organizations include Academic Bowl, Beta Club, Drama Club, French Club, History Club, Math Team and National Honors Society, among others. In March 2021, the Newnan High School’s campus was significantly damaged by an EF4 tornado. The Coweta County School System has begun a two-year effort to replace the buildings that were destroyed by the tornado. Newnan’s campus will feature a brand new, state-of-the-art 223,506 square-foot learning facility. This reconstruction plan is expected to be completed by July 2024.

The school is definitely one of the best in our area. We were hit by a tornado my 8th grade year and our campus has been completely rebuilt so our facilities are nice; however, college readiness is lacking and fewer students each year are getting into desired universities.

I transferred to Newnan High School three years ago, and prior to transferring, I had been to two other different high schools. Without a doubt, Newnan High School is by far the best high school that I have attended. The teachers are more connecting and understanding of any struggles that a child is going through and are very willing to help. The only bad thing about Newnan High School is that the grade principals have not always been very kind, but the principal himself is very sweet.

my time at Newnan high school was actually amazing. whenever I first got there, I was so shy because everyone knew each other from kindergarten and up and literally talked to no one that includes the teachers but as the year went on, I found that not only the students, but the teachers as well were the most amazing and kind souls I had ever met. I made a connection with them that felt like years in a couple months. I knew that all they wanted was for me to succeed no matter what. they showed me that I could all of my skills to work and that I'm worth way more than I thought, they gave me motivation. and although I have graduated, they will always be forever my favorite memories and my favorite high school.

The councilors are horrible do not help the students or parents at all. Straight up said dont call or email for scheduling. Said they can't help someone else's job. If you can get your child into a different High School then by all means do so. So glad my senior will be done with this school a half semester early and she was able to do it without the help of the so called Newnan High School Administration.
