I do not think that the building or school gets enough funding, especially compared to the main school of Newton Conover High school, which can cause students and staff to leave to explore bigger opportunities. The staff and the envoirnment is wonderful and I was so grateful to be able to spend my 4 years of High school there.

Discovery High School has its ups and downs. This school is great for getting ready for college. The staff cares a lot, and the student culture is great. Some of the downsides are that the school is relatively old, We get lunch in clear bags, and we have four to five teachers who do all the teaching. Overall I would rate the school 4/5 if you plan to study at a university. 2/5 If you plan to go to a community college or join the workforce.

My experience so far is great, they give AP courses which is great for your GPA and College. The honor clases are great, and the courses that are offered, give you a chance to experience and learn about different things. The school also makes you feel like a family, and they dont single you out.

Has been an excellent Honors/AP & College Ready school for our son. He is in his Sr year and has loved all the classes/subjects offered and the opportunity to take local community college class pathways as well. Every school has its struggles so it is not perfect but has been an overall great experi...

I had a tough middle school, and often was left behind in lessons and was bullied by the kids. When I came to Discovery, it was like heaven. Everyone here is nice and welcoming. Most of us are nerds, so we have a lot of common interests. The teachers are amazing, not perfect, but getting there. When...

Our community is lucky to have such an awesome school. Teachers teach kids how to think, not what to think. My son has done fantastic his four years there. And Mr. Robinson is commited to the students and improving our education system. You simply cannot go wrong with Discovery.
