A public Sarasota County school, Lamarque Elementary School serves approximately 850 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The Home of the Lions, Lamarque embodies the school nickname with its R.O.A.R.S. program, which stands for Respectful, Organized, Accepting, Responsible and Safe. By exemplifying these five principles, students can earn quarterly rewards and participation in socials, as well as “King cash” in honor of the school’s mascot, to spend at the school’s ROAR Store. Lamarque is also a Cambridge International School, a program that enables students who are performing at or above their grade level to accelerate their learning in some or all coursework. Overall, test scores and student progress are slightly above the state average. In addition to academic classes, students can take part in activities like safety patrol, student council and the morning news crew. For kids who enjoy being on stage, Lamarque also offers a chorus and theater program. Basketball courts and play areas are on the school grounds for use at recess and after school. Lamarque offers bus service as well as before- and after-school care, and the campus is located in a walkable residential area.

Lamarque has done a wonderful job with growing their love of reading with the AR quizzes and rankings. They have done fun field trips, parties, even have had a Jack Hartmann concert. My kid loves coming to school, she is in the Cambridge program. She is engaged and active at school. She likes going to this school and has many friends. Teachers engaged them really well. The principal is proactive.
