I feel like my experience with Pickens High has overall been wonderful. It has been a smooth senior year and I feel like the teachers really want what's best for the students.

While attending Pickens High School I grew to understand the school culture pretty well. Some aspects were very great but others left much to be desired. For the most part staff did there best to help and prepare you for the future.

Pickens was definitely a interesting school. The volleyball team is basically the only sport that ever went to state with the exception of their marching band. The band got little funding even though they brought in great revenue. The SRO was the only "higher up" that made me feel truly liked. The casual racism from some of the staff wasn't great either. Kids would bark at the alternative kids in the hall too.

The school was okay. I left in 9th grade because a girl told some lies on me however. They gave her all the support she wanted even though they knew she lied. They never supported me at all through the situation aside from a “oh just stay away from her”. I have to deal with the emotional trauma ever...

Its hard leaving a small middle school and then walking into a gigantic school. It is really scarey as of first day of 9th. But after he first day your used to it till you go to college. The athletic stuff is great and the principle is amazing.
