We have had a poor experience with Stephenson and are actively looking for other options. Our child appears to be above grade level coming in to Stephenson but there are limited resources to support him. The teachers are extremely strict and place kindergarteners in time out and send home pink slips beginning on day one. There is shaming of children. There is rough treatment physical treatment of children who misbehave (personally witnessed). The class room is extremely under resourced with 24 kindergarteners and no support staff other than parent volunteers. The school district is a sham.

Stephenson Elementary has been a wonderful place for our two kids to learn and grow. The teachers are amazing and really communicative. It’s an extremely welcoming environment with fantastic family involvement. We’ve had a great experience here and feel lucky to be part of it.

My son started in kindergarten this year and has really loved it! The environment is very inclusive; his teacher pays extra attention to prevent bullying and teaching kids how to interact in kind ways with each other.
