If you aren't white, straight, cisgender or from a high income family be prepared to face discrimination. There are students yelling slurs down the hallway all while the teacher watch or give them a slap in the wrist. While it did prepare me for college and the sports were amazing. I felt a lack of community due to how tiny the black population is. I had no one to talk to about this experience because the staff was majority white. I became depressed over this because everyday I had to go back to a school that had no space for me to belong.

I enjoyed my experience at Saline High School to the best of my abilities. I could've enjoyed the school more if I had researched what Saline High School had to offer. I mean the 8th graders( becoming 9th graders) and we get a 100-page book about all the classes available to us. The worst thing you have to worry about is the stairs; the school is 3 stories with 5 different classes daily. Heavy amounts of accommodations, very sanitary, high emphasis on college.

Learning: If you don't take AP or Honors classes then you aren't going to be learning very much. A lot Teachers in normal classes don't have any initiative to engage students, so students struggle to grasp a lot of what they are taught, or don't bother to try. Unless in AP or honors classes, it's re...

My daughter really thrived here - despite the strong pressures to fit in and over emphasis on excellence in sports and academics. She would have done well anywhere. For anyone with learning challenges, however, I think there are better options out there where the teachers will cater more to the aver...

School is decent, above average but nothing special. Some athletic coaches are political, petty, poor leaders/developers of character and don't develop players. Their teams succeed despite the coaches.
