St. Robert School is one of Shorewood’s premier private Catholic schools and serves preschool through eighth-grade students. Its historic brick schoolhouse - a Milwaukee County landmark built in 1937 in the Lombardy Romanesque architectural style - is located on a charming and bustling city street just blocks away from the shore of Lake Michigan and beautiful Atwater Park.
St. Robert’s curriculum focuses on faith-based study and coursework that prepares students to become leaders in the local community and in all aspects of their lives. In addition, the school touts its “workshop model” learning, a creative and hands-on approach that encourages students to fully engage with their education while meeting the school’s high academic standards.
Beyond religious education, central areas of study include English language arts, math, science and engineering, social studies, world language study, art (including a partnership with the prestigious Milwaukee Art Museum), music and choir, physical education, and digital technology.

We have two kids at St Robert and will certainly send our 3rd there starting in 4K. Academics are great, community and school network is fantastic. For a non-Milwaukee native the school has been very welcoming and been a great experience for kids and parents.

We have two children at St Robert and both of them are thriving. I feel that the middle school is especially excellent, and the instruction they are given to prepare them for high school is superb. The students are learning how to think critically, how to analyze , how to write papers in a way that is beyond thorough and detailed, and how to read a novel and truly reflect on it and talk about its meaning. The language program is also wonderful- every high school student I know says they were much more prepared in high school with regard to language, reading, writing, study habits, etc... than their peers who went to other elementary and middle schools.
