This school is led by an amazing principal, Mr. Rotosky, and our daughter has had a wonderful first year at Southwest. The dual language program is fantastic, her teacher Ms. Smith was kind and sweet to our little girl, and we are overall very happy with the culture of this school. It is a happy and nurturing place.

Southwest has a wonderful community culture and positive atmosphere. The staff and principal are very accessible and responsive. We have found most of our teachers to be very good. As a neighborhood school, it services a diverse group of students with widely ranging needs.

Teachers have nasty attitudes towards service workers they ask to be there. I don't recommend doing any services for these people very ungrateful. This school is family oriented. Many staff have children or grandchildren who attend the school. Southwest has a very active PTA which provides grants to enrich the classrooms.
