Spearman has been a blessing to my family. To be a part of a small community is an amazing experience. To raise my children in a community minded environment has given them a sense of belonging. Our resources and experiences are limited in a small rural area. I fear many of our kids are not ready for the bigger world out there.

In my opinion, Spearman ISD wasn't the greatest school experience I've ever had. There are a lot of aggravating people that attend SHS and bullying is fairly rampant. In general, a lot of undesirable occurrences take place at SHS, unfortunately there are some bad apples in the bunch. There are definitely some bad teachers that I've encountered throughout my high school career. I have been mentally abused by students and staff, I feel that this scholarship would help me escape from this toxic environment, and hope for a new friendly and more welcoming setting. My experience at SHS has not been entirely negative, for example, there have been a plethora of inspirational and admirable teachers and staff. I don't want to say that my time at SHS was all bad, but I would like a fresh start out in the real world.

Spearman Highschool has it's flaws but is overall a really good school. The school is very welcoming. I wish that the administration of the school would not be byass on the discipline protocol when it comes to there own kids. The students also take advantage of some of the substitute teachers and little to no discipline is in place.
