Alice B. Beal Elementary School is located on Tiffany Street in the Forest Park neighborhood of Springfield, and serves over 250 students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
Founded in 1962, the school was originally the Tiffany Street School and was later renamed for Alice B. Beal in honor of the devoted principal of the school. The Beal School is home to the Bears and ranks as one of the top elementary schools in Springfield.
In addition to the core education classes, students also participate in music, art, computer science, physical education and health courses. Throughout the year, the school holds a number of events including math night, book walks and multicultural celebrations.
A Little Free Library donated by the family of Sandy Maynard, a former school cook, sits in front of the school—a testament to the strength of the Beal School community and its wonderful faculty and students.
