The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

My four years at Sumner were fun. I was able to make a great group of friends and most of the teachers were fantastic, there was always someone you could turn to. However, the school itself is falling apart (ceiling tiles have almost landed on students heads). Luckily a new school is in the works. I just hope they they carry on the decades of history from the old school to the new one.

Some of the teachers have lots of knowledge, however, they just don't have the curriculum to teach the students effectively. Many teachers put in the effort to help students by staying after and assisting them with any work they are behind on or struggling with.
