When I was first told I was going to Thornton I was mad , because of the location (Harvey) people call it dirty , lame, weak and the actual students there don't have much self respect so it somewhat proves them right. My mom had me at 16 while she was a junior at Thornton then graduated , I will be my mothers only child to graduate from the same school as her. That means a lot to me because she still knows some staff I can say I walked the same halls as her and we gone have similar diplomas. Me personally when I got into highschool I stayed on top of things if I had a B I was having a bad day and being out for an semester for acl and meniscus surgery was tough but Thornton made accommodations for me where I had all my classes on the first floor instead of sending me to another school in the district with an elevator. I believe the school isn't the problem it's the people and the school can have so much potential and they are getting better each year.

It has a lot of resources for AP, IB, and Honors classes. There is an equal opportunity, so everyone can challenge themself with a course and teachers work hard to catch you up if you switch out/in. The worst part would be the security guards, and while a lot of admin aren't helpful in that respect, the principal, teachers, and counselors make up for it.
