Birmingham Elementary School at 2222 Bakewell St. is part of the Toledo Public School system and is the home of the Trojans. The school has around 300 students enrolled in pre-K through eighth grade and is in session from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.
Birmingham Elementary’s curriculum fulfills the state-mandated Ohio Department of Education requirements. In addition to their regular curriculum, students participate in physical education, music and art classes. In the wintertime, parents can pick up blizzard bags in order for students to continue their schoolwork during winter storms. They also offer summer school classes.
Most students walk to school, and many go to the local library branch across the street for after-school programming or a meal. Various local nonprofits provide meals for children that are food insecure.
Parents have been heavily involved in the school, organizing Birmingham’s intramural sports programs and, along with the staff and teachers, pushing the students to succeed.

Birmingham is a great school! I myself and my brother and sisters went ther from k-6 and I currently have 3 children that attend there.
