My experience at Utica Highschool had a lot of ups and downs. I made a lot of great friends and had a lot of amazing teachers. I had some problems when it came to college readiness and academics though. I felt like the academics weren't taken seriously by administrators and faculty. I had 3-4 teachers that really cared about my education and helping me grow into a smarter individual.

There is minimal care for students as well as resources for after graduation. There are teachers that care and want to see students succeed but there are just no resources. There was a new staff this year and there are small changes coming. More and more outlets for students r coming.

Overall, this high school did a poor job preparing me for college and the real-world after college. My most valuable "life skills" class was a personal finance elective. Besides this class, efforts did not seem to be taken to teach about taxes, investing, and other valuable life skills. The majority of the teachers are great people though.
