Wadsworth Magnet School for High Achievers is located on Santa Monica Drive in the center of the Belvedere Park neighborhood in Decatur, Georgia. This public magnet school serves students in fourth through sixth grade and offers an enriched version of the elementary and middle school curriculum in Dekalb County Schools with a program designed to enable students to be creative, life-long learners who excel to reach their individual potential.
Students are taught to take responsibility for their own learning while being supported by teachers, parents, stakeholders, business partners and various community members. The school’s Principal Advisory Council brings teachers, parents, counselors, students and Wadsworth community members together in order to create a space for understanding each other’s perspectives and sharing ideas for increasing student achievement and performance.
Wadsworth Magnet School for High Achievers is a well-decorated school and has garnered a number of accolades over the years. In 2014, it was one of only eight public schools in Georgia to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. Other achievements include being an AdvancED STEM Certified School, ranking number one in the district for college readiness in 2015 and receiving a National Beta School of Distinction award.

Only bad children have a bad experience here. As a student that has been going to Wadsworth for 5 years (4th grade in 2020 to 8th grade in 2025), I can confidently say I've experienced many different staff and administration. The teachers here are very caring and push you to be your best. I've enjoyed all my years here and I love how this school has shaped me.

My overall experience is actually pretty decent for a school with elementary and middle school in it. In such a small environment the staff are able to maintain these students effortlessly and in a caring manner. I say way to go for them and I hope my last year is just as amazing from the last 4!
