West Elementary and Early Childhood Academy is a White Settlement Independent School District public school. The school serves pre-kindergarten through fourth grade students. The campus is also home to the First Class Learning Center, a preschool for the district employee’s children. Students in the Early Childhood Academy receive full-day pre-kindergarten education. The program works to prepare students for kindergarten and focuses on developing the whole child. Teachers and administration work hard to develop family partnerships and meet every student’s individual needs. Elementary students at West Elementary learn core subjects with a curriculum based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards. Enrichment classes, like physical education and art, foster the student’s love of learning. Students also have access to support programs, like the dyslexia program and the Gifted and Talented education program. Students at West Elementary and Early Childhood Academy and all other schools in the district are part of “Bear Nation” because the mascot is the Brewer Bear. After completing elementary school, students will go to Tannahill Intermediate, the district’s fifth and sixth grade school.
