Why Live in Cathedral

Cathedral is a historic neighborhood overlooking the downtown area that's known for its Queen Anne and Victorian homes. Originally built in the late 1800s by the city's affluent residents, these homes often include intricate woodwork and stained-glass windows. Downtown’s main drag is a short stroll away, and from there, you can walk from shops to restaurants and cultural venues. Attractions include the Washington Pavilion and Levitt at the Falls, which host numerous performances and concerts. The Carpenter Bar is a popular for handcrafted cocktails. Terrace Park, a half mile away, offers kayaking, fishing and concerts by the Sioux Falls Municipal Band. The park also features Japanese Gardens and a pool, providing a serene escape. Residents can hop on the Downtown River Greenway which winds alongside the Big Sioux River for nearly a mile. The greenway connects to SculptureWalk, a trail adorned with artwork which has been extending into the Cathedral neighborhood. When locals don't want to walk, they can make the short drive or travel by bus. Sioux Area Metro serves the west side of the neighborhood and bike lanes offer cyclists easy access.
