Shippan is a waterfront Stamford neighborhood with private beaches and shared shoreline along a peninsula. Homes range from large waterfront properties to mid-20th-century Colonial Revivals, Cape Cods and 1980s condominiums. Flooding poses a risk to some properties in the area. Public spaces include West Beach Park, which has soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a playground. CTtransit bus routes serve the area. The Stamford Station downtown, several miles away, offers commuter rail on the Metro-North New Haven Line. There's close access to Interstate 95. New York City is about 40 miles away.
