Its relative affordability compared to the popular Woodlands district to the north can also be a draw, given that Auburn Lakes has similar curb appeal. “We get a lot of people that say, ‘I want to look in The Woodlands,’ but the homes are priced higher,” says Sarah Gongora, an Auburn Lakes local and broker associate with CB&A Realtors. “They turn to Auburn Lakes because it’s a master-planned community just like The Woodlands, but with lower home prices.” Auburn Lakes consists of New Traditional and Craftsman-style houses with stone and brick siding, typically featuring three to five bedrooms and attached garages. Home prices range between $400,000 and $1 million, with a median price of around $520,000, which is lower than nearby suburbs like The Woodlands.
