First Landing State Park on Cape Henry has lagoons, bald cypress swamps and maritime forest hosting rare plants and wildlife, and even an educational re-creation of an Eastern Woodland Indian village. The third, more secluded area is Sandbridge Beach, which borders the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge on the city's southern shore.
