West Union is a small village on the edge of Ohio's Appalachian region, about 70 miles from Cincinnati via state Route 32. The Richard and Lucile Durell Edge of Appalachia Preserve spans 20,000 acres just minutes away, and Shawnee State Park and Serpent Mound are each about 30 miles away.
