Westminster Ridge’s curving, tree-lined and often gently hilly streets wrap around a 2.5-acre pond at the neighborhood’s heart. Although it’s small, the pond is the center of life for many residents living north of Clinton Street, who often join Lakenridge Club for access to swimming in the summer and an added sense of belonging throughout the year. “The sense of community is unlike anything this side of Iowa. Now, that’s a little strong, but the sense of community because of the swim club is totally unique,” says Dolf Beil, an associate broker at Keller Williams Realty who has sold homes in the neighborhood for 22 years and lived there himself until recently. “It’s just heaven for kids in the summer. It’s absolute heaven. They’re there with their friends, and they’re part of the swim team.” In Westminster Ridge, he says, residents know more than just the neighbors to either side of them — they have the opportunity to know everyone.
