Why Live in Whitehall

Whitehall is an inner-ring suburb just east of Columbus, that is experiencing significant growth through housing and employment opportunities. Major employers such as Discover Financial Services and Defense Supply Center Columbus contribute to the area's economic stability. Despite its growth, Whitehall maintains a close-knit community atmosphere, where neighbors know each other and gather for events like the Whitehall Food Truck & Fun Fest. Housing in Whitehall includes older Traditional houses and mid-1900s split-levels, cottages and ranch-style homes, generally more affordable than nearby communities. The city is investing in income-restricted housing. Downtown Columbus is less than 10 miles, or 15 minutes, away. While cars are currently the most reliable transportation, public transit options are expanding, including a new Bus Rapid Transit line. Residents enjoy community parks, such as Whitehall Community Park and John Bishop Memorial Park, the latter of which offers amenities like playgrounds, splashpads and an amphitheater that hosts the Music in the Park series. The parks and recreation department hosts youth sports leagues. Dining options are plentiful, with local favorites like King Gyros Greek Restaurant and Flavor 91 Bistro, alongside chain restaurants and grocery stores.
