Home to the largest high school in Texas, Central Allen is more mixed-use than other suburban Dallas-Forth Worth area communities, with housing, schools, parks, shopping and dining all in one neighborhood. Allen High School sits beside a 125-acre park and is surrounded on all sides by a mix of housing and retail developments. Interstate 75, the northern suburb's direct route to Dallas, borders Central Allen to the west, offering access into the city. “Central Allen is a very established area off of Greenville,” says Realtor Clair Cannon with Douglas Elliman Real Estate. “You can get to pretty much anything that you would want from a shopping standpoint, and you have good access to the freeways. It’s a nice, easy area to live in.” Though Central Allen is mostly commercial, it does have some apartments and in-demand single-family homes.
