Cetronia is a suburban just west of Allentown, known for its 20th-century housing and lower property taxes than in the city. Homes include ranch-style houses, Colonial Revivals, bungalows and traditional homes on suburban lots. While prices might be higher than in Allentown, the lower tax rate balances out the costs. Parkland School District is a big draw for buyers, with several highly rated schools in the area. Parkland High School offers dual enrollment and early college programs for students through multiple local colleges. Trexler Memorial Park is a large green space with walking trails and open grassy areas for picnicking. Small pocket parks in the neighborhood offer basketball courts and playgrounds, and the public Allentown Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 course nearby. Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is a popular amusement park with over 25 rides. Running errands is easy with a Wegmans in the neighborhood and other big-box stores a short drive away. Local eateries include sports bar P.J. Whelihan’s and New American restaurant Grille 3501. Getting around is easy with major highways close by, including Interstate 78 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Some commuters go as far as Philadelphia, about a 60-mile drive.
