Northridge Heights is one of Ames' more sought-after neighborhoods for its newer homes and distance from the hustle and bustle that forms around Iowa State University. However, residents still maintain access to all the city's best amenities, including trendy dining options, well-maintained public green spaces and NCAA Division I athletic events at the university. "It's a quality neighborhood, and it's a very active place," says Realtor Paul Livingston, who lived in the area for six years and now sells homes there with Hunziker & Associates. "People are always out walking pets and riding bikes." There is a good mix of townhouses and single-family homes complimented by a highly rated school district. The median single-family home price is roughly $490,000, above the Ames and national medians.
