Mobile Homes for Sale in Leila Valley, Atlanta

As Atlanta continues to grow and neighborhoods see more revitalization projects, attention may soon shift to Leila Valley, in the southeast area of the city. Many of the neighborhood’s residents are older, having bought their homes years ago. A city housing complex was torn down in 2008 and nothing went up in its place since, leaving the neighborhood stagnant for many years. “Now there’s a little bit of interest brewing over there because now the City of Atlanta says it needs space, it needs more housing, anticipating this big growth that’s going to take place in the next 10 years,” says Shirley Nichols, the volunteer zoning representative for the city’s Neighborhood Planning Unit that represents the community. “So they’re looking at rebuilding some multifamily housing and apartments over there, that’s kind of in the first phases of the planning.” Atlanta Housing, in partnership with Food Well Alliance, is exploring redevelopment ideas, including an urban farm adjacent to new affordable housing units.
