Stockbridge Home Trends

Located about 20 miles south of the city center, Stockbridge is a growing Atlanta suburb. There are several development projects underway, including the revitalization of downtown. The newly built Stockbridge Amphitheater opened in September 2021. The grand opening of the amphitheater was so highly anticipated that legendary singers Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight performed. Garden Lakes, a single-family and townhome community centered around a lake and a 25-acre farm-to-table agricultural farm, is one example of Stockbridge's ongoing residential developments and is set to open in 2030. Stockbridge has several plots of land for sale and mainly consists of subdivisions with luxury features such as granite countertops, finished basements, and hardwood floors. The suburb has a variety of architectural styles, but split foyer, ranch-style, and two-story traditional houses are most popular. Mansions on large plots of land in gated communities are also common. Popular neighborhoods with similar amenities include Ivey Estates, Wild Wind, and Eagles Landing, a gated community with a 27-hole Tom Fazio-designed golf course.

Stockbridge Attractions

Panola Mountain State Park is Stockbridge's most popular attraction. The park features 25 miles of hiking trails and a variety of activities including camping, archery, and fishing. The Yule Forest attracts locals and visitors alike during the holiday season. Residents flock to the Yule Forest to pick pumpkins or experience Fear the Woods, one of Georgia's best haunted attractions. Once December hits, you can cut your own Christmas tree. Stockbridge also has several excellent golf courses including Eagles Landing Country Club, which is known as one of metro Atlanta's best golf courses. The town also prides itself on its strong sense of community, hosting a variety of events throughout the year. Small Business Saturday, Juneteenth Weekend, and Tasty Tuesdays are some of the largest events. The Stockbridge Amphitheater, which opened in September 2021, is the place to go for host concerts.

Stockbridge Schools

Stockbridge is served by Henry County Schools, which is one of the best districts in metro Atlanta. The district serves 50 schools. Union Grove High School, Dutchtown High School, and Woodland High School are ranked as some of the best high schools in the state. There are 15 private schools in Henry County. Stockbridge is near Clayton State University, a public four-year institution.

Commuting in Stockbridge

As a city in metro Atlanta, Stockbridge experiences heavy traffic, especially during rush hour. The average commute time is about 30 minutes. Highway 23 and Interstates 75 and 675 are the most popular routes for traveling into Atlanta. Driving is the main mode of transportation, but there are public transit options available. Henry County Transit provides travel across the county and Xpress GA provides commuter buses to Atlanta MARTA stations. Rideshare services are also available in Stockbridge. Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport is 16 miles away.
