Developed in the 1960s, Montclair is an established suburban neighborhood in Augusta. Houses are mainly brick ranch-style homes, with the occasional Colonial Revival, and most have been updated over the years. An active HOA helps maintain the neighborhood's curb appeal and hosts regular events, from food truck fairs to an annual Christmas parade. Things can pick up during the first week of April, when many homeowners rent their houses to visitors in town for the Masters at nearby Augusta National Golf Club. The HOA also manages the Montclair Pool, the shared green space with a playground and basketball court across from it and Crane Ferry Park, which has eight pickleball courts. Across from Warren Road Elementary School, an arts-infused magnet school in the Richmond County Public School System, Warren Road Park & Community Center offers a gymnasium, track, tennis courts and more. Montclair is mostly residential, but shopping and dining options, including big-box stores, locally owned restaurants and Augusta Mall, are within a 10-minute drive. Augusta Transit bus stops are throughout the neighborhood, and Interstates 520 and 20 are easily accessible. Major employers, including Augusta's medical district, Downtown Augusta and Fort Eisenhower, are all within about 10 miles. Flooding is a known risk in the area, particularly along Cranes Creek, which runs through the neighborhood.
