Why Live in Stone Creek
Stone Creek is a neighborhood with a synonymous green space near the outskirts of south Bakersfield. With its uniform streets and homes sitting close together behind well-groomed front lawns, it has the feel of a typical suburban neighborhood. “Stone Creek has custom homes that were mostly built in the early 2000s and late 90s,” says Shanti Brinsfield, a Realtor with Watson Realty who has over two decades of experience in Bakersfield. “They’re considered nicer homes than neighboring communities, situated on nicely-sized lots.” The community is currently growing, with new homes, shopping centers and schools like nearby Crestview Elementary School, which opened for the 2023-24 school year. “There’s a lot of new construction here,” says Teresa Taylor, a Realtor with Scott Rivera Real Estate Team who’s sold homes locally for over a decade. Other than its expansion, one of Stone Creek’s attractions is its closeness to Los Angeles compared to other Bakersfield neighborhoods. “There’s proximity to LA. It’s not as close as Valencia, but a lot of people move here to commute easily,” Taylor says. Stone Creek has a mix of newly-constructed homes and late 1990s and early 2000s single-family
