Water lovers can enjoy the Intracoastal Waterway in Boynton Beach, FL.
A residential hub with access to the city and the surf
Downtown Boynton is a blossoming residential and commercial space sandwiched between the heart of Boynton Beach and the deep blue waters of the Intracoastal Waterway. “It’s close to the ocean and that’s always a big deal when residents are moving here,” says Matt Campbell, local Realtor with Beachfront Properties. The neighborhood also has convenient access to Interstate 95, connecting to popular hubs in Delray and Boca Raton. However, numerous redevelopment projects by the City of Boynton Beach have shown homebuyers that this is a prime spot to drop their anchors. “There has been a bunch of money put into developing downtown,” Campbell says. “It’s become artsier with lots of new investments.”
Oceanfront Park is open 365 days a year
Multiple green spaces dot the residential areas of Downtown Boynton. Pioneer Canal Park features tennis and basketball courts and a boat ramp. To the east of the neighborhood, Oceanfront Park welcomes visitors to the sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The park is open 365 days a year, and its facilities range from playgrounds to picnic areas. South Florida may be known for its year-round sunshine, but the neighborhood still has multiple spots for indoor recreation. The Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center was completely renovated in 2018 and has hosted revolving performing and visual arts exhibits since 2020. Nearby, the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum encourages young visitors to explore historical interactive learning displays that emphasize art, culture and the humanities.

Pastel-colored ranchers and high-rise condos
Downtown Boynton features a variety of accessible residential options for homebuyers looking to get their own slice of South Florida. “This is one of the more affordable areas when compared to Boca Raton or Del Ray because you have a little bit of everything,” Campbell says. Pastel-colored ranchers are the predominant single-family style, although Spanish Revivals can be found sprinkled throughout. Older homes from the 1970s cost between $150,000 and $300,000, while renovated builds average $500,000. Many of these residences have well-manicured front lawns and backyard swimming pools. Multifamily townhouses and high-rise condos overlooking the water range between $100,000 and $400,000. Grand waterfront estates with private boat docks are available on the neighborhood's eastern end. These builds sit along the intracoastal waterway and price between $1 million and $3 million. Proximity to the coast comes with wind and flooding risks associated with hurricanes. Palm Beach County encourages residents to elect flood insurance and provides numerous resources to homeowners on its website.

Bethesda Hospital East has a nationally recognized orthopedic total joint replacement program just south of the neighborhood.
