Within a brick building that served as everything from a bank to a college is the Main Street Tavern, serving tavern-style meals such as buffalo wings and classic sandwiches. A Native American-owned and operated local institution, the Broken Arrow Brewing Co. was the first brewery in Broken Arrow and serves ten beers on tap. One of the most popular is the Day Drinker. Magnolia Soap & Bath Co uses domestically sourced ingredients to make soaps, laundry detergents, shampoo bars and other self-care essentials. The Central Park Community Center hosts several events throughout the year, such as family movie nights in Central Park and a bath bomb crafting night during Mother’s Day weekend. “We host a daddy-daughter dance,” says Wood. “We sold over 1,200 tickets and had 20 volunteers.” The longest-running festival in Oklahoma is the Rooster Days Festival, held annually in Central Park on Main Street. The festival features a parade, carnival rides, fair foods, live music and vendors.
Broken Arrow High School College and Career Center
Children in the area attend Arrowhead Elementary School, receiving a B rating on Niche. Students continue to Sequoyah Middle School, receiving a B-minus. Downtown Broken Arrow is bordered by Route 51 and bisected by North Elm Place. Both roadways are noisy for those living nearby and during rush hour.
