Why Live in West Palmer Lake

West Palmer Lake is a Brooklyn Center neighborhood offering residents a slower pace of life with ample outdoor recreation near the Twin Cities. “It’s a quiet neighborhood,” says Carlos Bunay, Realtor with National Realty Guild. Several homes have views of West Palmer Park, which abuts the wetlands surrounding Palmer Lake. On the other side of the neighborhood are several shopping centers along Brooklyn Boulevard. Interstate 94 is nearby, making it easy for residents to access Minneapolis and St. Paul. Sidewalks line some of the roads in West Palmer Lake. For most of the area, the grassy lawns stretch to the curb, dotted with oak and maple trees. Most of the community is made up of ranch styles and split-levels built between the 1950s and ’70s, although there are some townhouses from the ’70s and ’80s. “The year of build is more recent than North Minneapolis and St. Paul,” says Cenia Badillo, Realtor with Coldwell Banker. “They have more updates and are a little bit bigger.” Prices for a single-family home typically range from $275,000 to $375,000, while townhouses fall between $150,000 and $275,000. “It’s a little cheaper,” Bunay says, with the median price of a single-family home
