A waterfront community with highway access
Lying along the shores of the Caloosahatchee River and with the Orange River carving through the northeastern portion of the neighborhood, Morse Shores has plenty of nautical accessibility for its residents in southwestern Florida. With a number of parks and preserves in the vicinity around its boundaries, recreation is a prevalent part of life. Interstate 75 passes right through the heart of Morse Shores and its interchange splits the neighborhood into quadrants, meaning denizens of the area are never far from getting around the Floridian landscape and diving into adventure. “It’s right off I-75 and residents can get quickly to anywhere they need to go,” says Izai Sanchez, a Realtor with Keller Williams. “It backs up to the river for boating or kayaking or anything like that.”
Orange Park features double-wide models along with RV lots.
Many of the homes in the Morse Shores neighborhood are along canals leading to the river.

Views of the river from the back door
Homes are concentrated in various areas across the Morse Shores topography, with many single-family residences placed west of the interstate. Manufactured homes are more common on the eastern side, including the waterfront, senior community of Orange Harbor located around an inlet of the Caloosahatchee. Ranch homes are popular in the Morse Shores area at large, with some condos to the south. Many recreation opportunities exist for the homes situated on or near the water, and with some homes a walk out the back door could be greeted with sights of the waves. Pricing typically spans $200,000 to $350,000, and a number of docks extend off the properties into the waters of the Caloosahatchee.
Beachfront seating can be found at the Boathouse Bar & Grill.

Recreation with sights of manatees and other wildlife
Manatee Park is apt considering its namesake, as a bright mural featuring the aquatic mammals welcomes visitors near the northeastern corner of Morse Shores. Featuring a playground on land, more recreation can be found on water at the park with its dock and launch area, where the adventurous can set off in kayaks and paddle through the surrounding mangrove forests. Lucky maritime navigators might even catch sight of actual manatees. Back on terra firma, Manatee Park also has a small amphitheater under an expansive oak tree canopy, raised boardwalks that meander through the mangroves and wetlands, benches and information stations. Russell Park, on the opposite side of the neighborhood and just beyond the boundary, has a ramp for putting into the Caloosahatchee.
Manatee Park in Morse Shores is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike.
Manatee sightings are more popular in the winter at Manatee Park due to its warmer waters.

Nearby preserves showcasing Florida nature
About a mile to the east of the interstate, the Orange River Preserve is just one of the nature showcases in the area. With 60 acres of wilderness and both flora and fauna abounding within, visitors could catch sight of dozens of bird species, the West Indian manatee, bobcats, alligators and more. Offshore islands are also a feature of the area, as small areas of land like Beautiful Island, Buzzard Roost and the Caloosahatchee National Wildlife Refuge all sit surrounded by the river. Across the waterway is the Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve, separated by the highway but featuring trails that wind through nature ecosystems and several miles of hiking paths.
Visitors to Manatee Park can find interesting plants and animals while exploring the park.
Kayakers can keep an eye out for manatees as they paddle through the Orange river.

Few restaurants within, but iconic venues nearby
“About five to 10 minutes up the road, you’ll start running into more restaurants,” Sanchez says. “There’s the Boathouse restaurant that’s, at maximum, 10 minutes away, and it backs up to the river.” The Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill sits on the shore of the Caloosahatchee relatively close to Havens Island. The Fort Myers staple offers chairs sitting right on the beach sand next to the water and even a marina, so those who’ve been on the water all day can come ashore for a meal. The vibrant atmosphere is completed with a pool, not often seen in a restaurant setting, and a tiki-themed bar. Chains within Morse Shores, though few, include Cracker Barrel and Hardee’s, while the Publix Super Market at the Shops at Verandah is just a few minutes’ drive to the east. Local outlets, like the New York City Barber or Hayloft Western Wear, are perfect for getting a trim or adding some flair to an outfit.
The Boathouse Bar & Grill offers dining to Morse Shores residents.

Connectivity to the rest of Florida and beyond
Interstate 75, which in its entirety runs from southeastern Florida up to the Canadian border, has a major interchange almost in the exact middle of Morse Shores with Route 80, which is also known as Palm Beach Boulevard. “Easy access to I-75 gets people to pretty much anywhere they need to go north or south of Morse Shores,” Sanchez says. Dividing Morse Shores into four sections, the quadrisect interchange means road-trippers can head north across the river – and even the country – or simply get around the area a bit faster.
Interstate 75 runs north across the river and is accessible from Morse Shores.
The Morse Shores neighborhood is conveniently located next to interstate 75.
