It’s one of the most ambitious luxury housing projects in Queens. Spanning from Austin Street to Kew Forest Lane, The Austin offers resort-style amenities surrounded by green spaces amid Forest Hills. The Austin is a new build featuring six-stories with 98 high-end residences, including two and three-level townhome units.
One-bed units range from $814,000 to $939,400. Prices for two-bed units are between $1,226,500 and $1,501,500 and three-bedroom residences range from $1,730,575 to $2,974,763. There are also four-bedroom penthouse luxury spaces with custom details.
High-end touches throughout
The units are designed with a modern flair with herringbone floors, high-end kitchens with stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms have spa features and the floor-to-ceiling windows provide ample sunlight. The units are climate controlled in every room and almost all the units have terraces.
The townhomes and penthouse residences have more upscale touches. Townhomes are available as duplex or triplex residences with a balcony or backyard. The penthouse units have 10-foot ceilings for a luxe touch.
The kitchens have curved wood paneling and custom pull out spice drawer in a sleek design. Master bathrooms feature radiant heated flooring and most are equipped with double vanities.
“This is built as if it’s on billionaire’s row,” says Bruce Eaton, an associate broker at Corcoran Group who is a Forest Hills specialist.
No builder has tried for this type of price point in Forest Hills and Eaton is eagerly watching how consumers respond, noting that the prices are “pushing the limit.” Unlike many multi-family units in Forest Hills, The Austin is a condo and not a co-op, which means the buyer owns the actual unit and not shares of the building, Eaton explains.
Hotel-style amenities and a pet spa
The exterior of the building features a limestone façade with gold brass trimmings flanked by manicured landscapes. There is a door attendant 24 hours.
Amenities include a library for reading and relaxing, lounge, basketball court and a fitness center with a Yoga studio. There’s also a spa, conference center as well as a children’s playroom and music room. Indoor parking is available with EV charging. On the two roof floors there’s an Olympic-size pool, outdoor lounges and recreation, with outdoor dining and barbecue area. For the ultimate luxury for your furry friends, there’s even a pet spa. Full-time concierge services are available from housekeeping to personal training
Popular Forest Hills near Austin Street nightlife
Forest Hills is popular with home and condo buyers due to its convenience and its architecture, says Eaton.
Modeled after early 20th century English garden cities, the neighborhood — is conceived by landscape architect and planner Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., who designed Central Park. It’s a blend of urban and suburban with an English village feel with Tudor buildings throughout and tree-lined streets. Forest Hills is one of the nation’s first planned communities with an easy commute to Manhattan.
Austin Street is a where many Forest Hills residents hang out for restaurants and bars. Big-box retailers like The Gap, Sephora and grocery store Trader Joe’s are in the area. Boutiques such as Oz Boutique offer designer and evening gowns and Dmitry Ties is known for luxurious neckwear. Eddie’s Sweet Shop, a century-old soda fountain offering up huge homemade ice cream creations, malteds, shakes and the famous egg cream.
For the nature lover, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park is nearby with nature trails and green space. It’s the original site of the U.S. Open at Forest Hills Stadium at the West Side Tennis Center.
Among Forest Hills’ claim to fame is the music duo Simon & Garfunkel, who grew up in the Queens community.
Getting around
The closest subway station is Kew Gardens Union Turnpike with the E and F lines that goes into Manhattan. The LIRR is also conveniently nearby for quick travel into New York’s Penn Station. Bus lines include the Q60 at Queens Blvd.
Driving in and out of Forest Hills is a breeze as the condo is near the Grand Central Parkway and Jackie Robinson Parkway.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
