A mix of established and newer homes in suburban Chattanooga

The neighborhood features a broad mix of housing styles. “East Brainerd comprises over 30 neighborhoods, some older with large lots, some newer with smaller lots. There’s also a lot of new construction,” says Grace Frank, a broker at the Grace Frank Group with Zach Taylor, who has 25 years of experience. “The area is very diverse, and homes move pretty quickly here.” Common housing options include contemporary Craftsman, New Traditional and ranch-style homes. While you can find some houses from the 1970s and ‘80s, the median build year for the neighborhood is 1997, much newer than Chattanooga’s citywide median of 1964. Landscapes often vary by age, with older parts of the neighborhood featuring tall, leafy trees, while newer sections are more open and sunnier. As for costs, buyers should expect to pay between the lower $200,000s and the lower $800,000s.
